2023 Bankruptcy Median Income in NC
Median family income figures for North Carolina are the starting point in the bankruptcy means test. This test may determine whether or not you qualify to file Chapter 7 or are forced into the repayment plan in Chapter 13. It may also determine whether or not you are required to remain inside a payback plan for either a 3 or 5 term in Chapter 13.
For consumers with primarily business debts or for those converting from Chapter 13 to Chapter 7 the means test may not apply. Also be aware that if you make more than the numbers shown below you may still be eligible to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy as there are standard deductions for taxes, health insurance, alimony payments, child support payments, daycare expenses, secured debt payments, etc... |
