Misdemeanors

Criminal law book
We understand that many people charged with misdemeanors have never been charged with a crime before and are terrified of the potential impact a criminal record will have on their job and standing in the community. There are often programs available for first time offenders to keep your record clean and to later have your record expunged.

If you chose to represent yourself, be careful about going to Court to simply ask for a PJC as we regularly receive calls asking why that charge still appears on their record. Many employers treat a PJC just like a conviction. Usually the only way to completely remove a charge is by expungement as convictions or PJC's are never automatically removed from a criminal record.
Please give us a call before going to Court without the advice of an experienced attorney with your best interest at heart. We always offer a free consultation to discuss all criminal charges. Call the firm at (704) 493-6851 to speak to a lawyer today.
