Suspended or Revoked License
If you have a suspended or revoked license in North Carolina there are new options available to obtain a limited driving privilege. Having a revoked license is like being in a hole. Rule #1 when stuck in a hole- Stop Digging. Simply paying off tickets or continuing to drive and accumulating new tickets may result in a permanent revocation. Paying off a ticket or pleading guilty to a moving violation while suspended tacks on an additional year of revocation.

Pleading guilty to “Driving While License Revoked” (DWLR) can also result in a large fine, 120 days in jail, and a criminal conviction of up to a Class 1 misdemeanor. After 3 moving violations while revoked you become permanently revoked in NC, which means you will not be eligible for a DMV hearing for 3 years.
